Troop 84 is chartered by the Goodland Academy for boys.  It is the oldest continuously operated  organization in the state of Oklahoma.  Begun by Presbyterian missionaries in 1848, Goodland provides residential education to disadvantaged families desiring the best opportunities for their children.  It continues to be operated under the authority of the Presbyterian Church and is the oldest Presbyterian organization in the four state region - Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Scouting is one of the important pillars of the Goodland Academy program.  We believe scouting prepares a young man for life and sets him on the road to success, which is why it is an essential part of our program.  Every boy takes an active roll in the scout troop filling positions of responsibility and leadership.

Troop 84 is also open to any boy who wishes to participate within the surrounding area.
